Nothing Ear (3) Launches with Super Mic and 38 Hour Battery Life
Jin Soh
Nothing has officially unveiled the Ear (3), its latest true wireless earbuds that bring a mix of new design cues, upgraded audio performance, and a focus on call clarity with the introduction of Super Mic. For the first time, Nothing has also incorporated metal elements into its signature transparent design, giving the Ear (3) a more refined aesthetic.
At the centre of the update is Super Mic, a dual-microphone system built directly into the charging case. With a press of the TALK button, users can activate the mic for calls, which leverages ambient-filtering tech to cut through up to 95 dB of surrounding noise, ensuring clear conversations in noisy environments. Beyond calls, the Super Mic also doubles as a voice recorder for Essential Space, letting users instantly capture notes that sync and transcribe automatically when paired with Nothing OS.

Each of the earbuds carry three directional microphones working alongside a bone-conduction Voice Pickup Unit that detects micro-vibrations from the jaw and ear canal. Combined with multi-channel AI noise-cancellation trained on over 20 million hours of real-world audio, the Ear (3) is capable of reducing wind noise by up to 25 dB while ensuring the user’s voice remains clear and isolated.
Real-time Adaptive Noise Cancellation in the buds adds another layer, adjusting every few milliseconds to maintain consistent isolation and a maximum suppression level of up to 45 dB.

In terms of sound, Ear (3) features a new 12mm dynamic driver with a patterned diaphragm that increases the radiating area by 20% compared to the previous model. The result is stronger low-end response, up to 4–6 dB more bass, along with an additional 4 dB boost in treble.
In terms of the design, transparent housings reveal the inner components in the usual Nothing fashion, now accented by polished metal details. A new Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) antenna also improves connectivity with 15% stronger transmission power and 20% better sensitivity.

Battery life sees a notable bump as well. Each bud now houses a 55 mAh cell, delivering up to 10 hours of playback without ANC and up to 38 hours with the charging case. A quick 10-minute charge provides as much as 10 hours of listening, with Qi wireless charging on board as well.
Connectivity has been upgraded with Bluetooth 5.4 and LDAC support for high-resolution audio, alongside low-latency performance under 120 ms for gaming and video. Through the Nothing X app, users can fine-tune controls and integrate services like Essential Space or even ChatGPT directly through the earbuds. Both the earbuds and the case come with an IP54 rating against dust, sweat, and splashes.

In Malaysia, the Nothing Ear (3) retails at RM759 and will be available starting 6 October in Black and White color variants.
