Continuing the announcements from Apple’s event earlier today, the spotlight also falls on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both models arrive with a refreshed rear camera design and a host of upgrades to their specifications and build.

The iPhone 17 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the larger iPhone 17 Pro Max comes in at 6.9 inches. Both are equipped with Super Retina XDR displays, offering ProMotion 120Hz refresh rates and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Powering them is Apple’s new A19 Pro chip, undoubtedly the company’s most powerful processor to date.

Apple claims the combination of the A19 Pro and a redesigned vapor chamber cooling system allows for up to 40% better sustained performance compared to the previous generation. As with the rest of this year’s lineup, the Pro models also integrate Apple’s N1 wireless chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.

For photography, the iPhone 17 Pro series carries a triple 48MP Fusion rear camera setup, covering the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses — the latter offering optical zoom of up to 8x. On the front, an 18MP Center Stage selfie camera ensures smooth framing for photos and video calls.

Video capabilities see a big step forward, with support for ProRes RAW, Log 2, genlock, and recording at up to 4K 120fps. Both models also support fast charging, capable of reaching 50% battery in just 20 minutes with a high-power adapter. Running on iOS 26, the iPhone 17 Pro series introduces the new Liquid Glass interface alongside deeper integration of Apple Intelligence.

In Malaysia, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max open on 12 September 2025, with official sales beginning 19 September. Pricing for the iPhone 17 Pro starts at RM5,499 for the 256GB model, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max begins at RM5,999. For the first time, the Pro Max is also offered with up to 2TB of storage, topping out at RM9,999.
