Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 Arrives September 4 with S-Rank Agents Seed and Orphie

Zenless Zone Zero’s upcoming update, Version 2.2 “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,” is set to launch on September 4. This new chapter introduces the Obol Squad, an elite Defense Force faction, along with new S-Rank agents Seed and Orphie & Magus, as they confront Exaltist remnants and uncover hidden dangers beneath Waifei Peninsula.

Following the collapse of the Exaltists’ previous schemes, Major General Lorenz and Colonel Isolde dispatch the Obol Squad to the frontlines, further intensifying the region’s power struggles. Along the way, players will uncover the long-buried truths of the faction, including Seed’s mysterious past.

Seed, an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent and mechanical prodigy, fights alongside her upgraded Seed Sr. mecha, offering devastating firepower and synergy with other Attack agents to amplify damage output.

Orphie & Magus, the S-Rank Fire Attack Agent and Obol Squad’s captain, specializes in coordinated combat, deploying high-powered lasers and unique team buffs. By accumulating Bottled Heat through EX Special Attacks, Orphie can trigger Zeroed In, boosting allies’ Attack and allowing Aftershocks to ignore a portion of enemy Defense. Supporting them is Mercury, an S-Rank Bangboo who joins the battlefield in a combat tank.

The version 2.2 update also brings back S-Rank Electric Stun Agent Trigger and S-Rank Fire Attack Agent Evelyn. Meanwhile, Soldier 0 – Anby undergoes further training for an upgraded future release.

Version 2.2 features fresh in-game events, including Band of Brave Bangboo, a tower defense mode with new maps, enemies, and environmental hazards like bushes and Miasma. Clearing stages rewards the A-Rank Excaliboo, a Bangboo whose powerful sword strikes or determined hammer blows vary depending on its success in drawing its weapon. Meanwhile, Rhythm Rave offers a music-based challenge where players sync beats with iconic tracks to earn rewards.
