Insta360 Reveals First 8K 360-Degree Drone, the Antigravity A1
August 15, 2025 Jin Soh

Insta360, together with a spin-off company they helped incubate called Antigravity, has introduced the Antigravity A1, the world’s first drone capable of capturing 8K 360-degree video. Its unique dual-lens setup works with advanced stitching algorithms to completely remove the drone from both the live feed and the final recorded footage, leaving behind nothing but clean, uninterrupted aerial views.

The A1 features Antigravity’s proprietary FreeMotion technology, which works hand-in-hand with the included Vision goggles and Grip controller to create an immersive and intuitive flying experience. Pilots can look in one direction while flying in another. Recorded flights can be rewatched in full 360° as many times as they like, with new perspectives to discover each time.

Because every angle is captured in full 8K resolution, pilots do not need to worry about perfect framing mid-flight. Reframing can be done later during editing, which reduces the risk of missing important moments and makes flight control far simpler. In post-production, users can export in any aspect ratio without a drop in quality, and apply effects like Tiny Planet views or dramatic horizon flips. Creators familiar with the Insta360 X Series workflow should feel right at home with the A1’s editing process.

Weighing just 249 grams, the Antigravity A1 falls below the registration threshold in most countries, making it more convenient to travel with. Its compact size allows it to fit easily into a backpack, while its quick setup means pilots can get airborne within minutes, whether in wide-open landscapes or tight urban spaces.

The Antigravity A1 is set for a global launch in January 2026, with final pricing, bundle details, and regional availability to be announced closer to release.
