YTL is taking its homegrown large language model Ilmu to the next level with the launch of ILMUchat, a Malaysian-built AI chatbot designed to go head-to-head with ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Initially focused on text generation, ILMUchat will expand over time to support visual and voice interactions.

ILMUchat will be available on both web and mobile apps, with the official launch scheduled for Malaysia Day, September 16, 2025. Users will be able to access it directly via Ilmu.ai. According to YTL, the chatbot can answer a wide range of queries and even perform real-time web searches for up-to-date information.

In early demos, ILMUchat delivered fast, accurate answers and featured a clean, streamlined interface that feels more polished than many existing AI tools. It’s part of YTL’s broader push to build a fully Malaysian AI ecosystem, tailored to local language, culture, and context.

For those eager to get early access, YTL has opened pre-registration on its website ahead of launch day. Come September, Malaysia will have its own AI chatbot ready to compete on the global stage.
