BMW Malaysia has just launched three new models in the country: the fully electric BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro, the iX xDrive45 Sport, and the locally assembled BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport. The trio was officially unveiled at The Art of Driving 2025 showcase and will be available at all authorised dealerships from 25th July 2025.
As the first all-electric SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) from the brand, the BMW iX has been updated with two variants now on offer: the more powerful xDrive60 M Sport Pro and the slightly less potent xDrive45 Sport.

Visually, both retain the distinctive iX silhouette, now enhanced with design tweaks including a more refined kidney grille featuring diagonal lines and BMW Iconic Glow lighting. Adaptive LED headlights have also been updated, contributing to a more aggressive front profile. The iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro gains additional M performance elements such as a full M Sport package, M aerodynamic wheels, red M Sport brakes, and smoked lighting elements.
Inside, both variants come with ambient lighting, a panoramic glass roof, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. The xDrive60 gets exclusive M touches, including Alcantara-trimmed upholstery, a round M steering wheel, and upgraded sport seats. BMW Live Cockpit Professional and a host of connectivity options such as Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, and the My BMW App are standard across the board.

Performance-wise, the xDrive60 M Sport Pro delivers 544 hp and 765 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds. Its 111.5 kWh battery offers up to a whopping 701 km of WLTP range and supports up to 195 kW DC charging. The xDrive45 Sport makes 408 hp and 700 Nm, does 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, and travels up to 602 km on a full charge from its 100.6 kWh battery. DC fast charging has also been improved to 175 kW.
Both iX variants also support BMW Digital Key Plus, with functions like remote access and user role customisation, ideal for shared driving situations. A full suite of driving and parking assistance systems is also included.

Colour options for the iX range include Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Arctic Race Blue, Aventurine Red and Dune Grey. Interiors vary by variant, with the xDrive60 M Sport Pro getting M-specific themes and optional Design Suite packages.
BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport

Joining the updated iX is the refreshed BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport, now locally assembled. The facelifted model brings a number of visual and technical upgrades, including a new illuminated kidney grille, slimmed Adaptive LED headlights, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. It rides on staggered 21-inch M wheels and features M Sport brakes as standard.
The cabin is equally revised, most notably with the integration of BMW’s Curved Display with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment screen, powered by the BMW Operating System 8.5. “Sensafin” synthetic leather, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and four-zone climate control are all part of the standard kit. A Harman Kardon audio system and wireless charging round out the luxury-focused interior.

Under the hood is BMW’s latest 3.0L inline-six turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Output is rated at 381 hp and 540 Nm, good for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds. The engine features a host of efficiency-enhancing tech including VALVETRONIC and a new ignition system. An 8-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels.
Exterior colour options include Mineral White, Brooklyn Grey and Skyscraper Grey, while the interior is finished in Black Sensafin with contrast stitching.
Ownership and After-Sales Support
All new models come with BMW’s full suite of ownership benefits under the “Relax. We Care.” campaign. This includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and up to 6 years of service coverage for EVs, 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, as well as 24/7 roadside assistance. Proactive vehicle diagnostics and over-the-air software updates are also part of the ConnectedDrive experience.
