Hot off the heels (or wheels) of the Malaysia Auto Show, several carmakers have begun launching and starting sales for their latest models—and MG is no exception. Today, MG has officially announced the pricing for its latest electric vehicle, the MG S5 EV, with prices starting from RM115,900.

The MG S5 EV comes in three variants: the COM (RM115,900), COM Long Range (RM125,900), and LUX Long Range (RM135,900). The key differences between these variants lie in their driving range, battery capacity, and equipment specs.
The base COM model is equipped with a 49kWh battery, offering 340km of range (WLTP) and supports 120kW DC fast charging. The COM Long Range and LUX Long Range variants, on the other hand, both feature a 62kWh battery, delivering 430km of range (WLTP). The LUX trim adds several premium upgrades, including larger wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera, hands-free power tailgate, six speakers, and a panoramic sunroof.

All three variants are powered by the same electric motor setup with 170 PS (125kW) and 250Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0–100km/h in 6.1 seconds. Standard equipment across the range includes a 12.8-inch infotainment panel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, comprehensive safety and driver assistance features, and seven airbags.
The MG S5 EV is backed by a 7-year/150,000km vehicle warranty, an 8-year/180,000km battery warranty, and an 8-year/160,000km electric motor and controller warranty—whichever comes first. These prices include a RM6,000 discount for the first 500 customers, who will also receive a complimentary 7kW wall charger.

With the launch of the S5 EV, MG now offers a broad lineup of EVs in Malaysia, including the MG ZS EV, MG 5 EV, MG Cyberster, and now the MG S5 EV. Interested buyers can visit their nearest MG showroom or head to Mid Valley Megamall, where MG is currently holding a roadshow with test drives available until 25 May.
