Sigma BF Officially Launched In Malaysia – RM9,688 for Body Only
April 23, 2025 Jin Soh

This past February, Sigma revealed the BF — a full-frame compact interchangeable lens camera with an aluminium unibody. With only three buttons, a dial, and a “Status Monitor Screen,” the BF is a “radically simple” (as Sigma puts it) camera that certainly stands out amongst cameras these days. Today, the BF has officially launched on our shores.

To recap, the Sigma BF is a 24.6MP full-frame L-mount mirrorless camera. The body of the camera is milled from a single block of aluminium and weighs only 388g without a battery. As mentioned before, the design of the camera is kept to a bare minimum with a 3.15” main touchscreen, a smaller status monitor screen, three buttons, and a scroll wheel with haptics designed to minimize physical wear.

In terms of video, the BF captures 4K and 6K video at 30p. 120p slow-motion recording is also available but only at 1080p resolution. There’s also support for L-Log recording in both H.264 and H.265 formats.

In place of a typical SD card slot with removable media, the BF instead features 230GB of internal storage. This should allow for up to 14,000 JPEG photos or 2.5 hours of video recording at the highest setting, according to Sigma.

Perhaps taking some cues from Fujifilm’s film simulations, the Sigma BF includes 13 color modes, such as Standard, Rich, Calm, Powder Blue, Warm Gold, and Cinema.

The Sigma BF is now available to order in Malaysia with two package options: body only for RM9,688, as well as a kit that includes a Sigma 35mm f/2 DG Contemporary lens that goes for RM12,688. Sigma Malaysia has also shared that the BF is currently back-ordered and those that pre-order today might only receive their cameras in three months (at the earliest).
