AirAsia Bans Powerbank Usage During Flights Starting April 1, 2025
March 26, 2025 AF

AirAsia has officially updated its flight policy, announcing a ban on powerbank usage and charging during all flights, effective April 1, 2025.

Passengers are still allowed to bring powerbanks onboard, but they must be kept with them at all times. Powerbanks cannot be stored in overhead compartments or checked luggage, and each passenger is limited to a maximum capacity of 20,000mAh or 100Wh.

Throughout the flight, powerbanks cannot be used to charge any electronic devices. This measure aims to reduce risks associated with battery-related incidents during flights. AirAsia joins other airlines like Malaysia Airlines and Batik Air, which have already implemented similar restrictions.
