Multimedia University (MMU) has announced the establishment of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence Engineering (FAIE), set to launch in July 2025. This new faculty will replace the existing Faculty of Engineering (FOE), with a stronger focus on AI education and research.

FAIE will introduce a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied AI, a three-year full-time program designed to equip students with machine learning, automation, and AI-driven problem-solving skills. The program will cover areas like smart healthcare, autonomous vehicles, precision agriculture, and personalized digital assistants.

The faculty will also feature state-of-the-art AI labs, developed in collaboration with students, researchers, and industry partners. Additionally, MMU’s existing engineering programs will be enhanced with AI elements to ensure students gain cutting-edge tech skills.

This move positions MMU as a key player in AI education, joining other institutions like Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in strengthening Malaysia’s AI talent pipeline.
