Saudi Arabia’s investment fund is reportedly looking to invest $100 million in AirAsia, a move that would not only strengthen the airline’s financial position but also boost tourism between Southeast Asia and Saudi Arabia.

This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to attract more international travelers. AirAsia is currently in discussions with multiple investors, including from Singapore and Japan, as it seeks to raise around RM1 billion. The airline is said to be offering up to a 15% stake at a valuation of $2 billion, making the Saudi investment one of the largest potential contributions.

If negotiations proceed smoothly, an official announcement on the investment could be made in the coming weeks.
