Realme made waves at MWC 2025 by showcasing a smartphone prototype with an interchangeable lens system, bringing DSLR-like versatility to mobile photography.

The concept device features a dedicated lens mount, allowing users to attach different high-quality lenses directly to their smartphone. Realme has introduced two lenses for now: a 73mm portrait lens and a 234mm telephoto lens.
With this system, users can capture more professional and high-quality shots, similar to a DSLR or mirrorless camera setup. However, Realme has not confirmed if or when this technology will be commercialized.
Realme isn’t the first to explore this idea—Xiaomi previously showcased a magnetically attached lens concept for smartphones. But if Realme moves forward with this, it could change mobile photography as we know it.
