Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design has just made its global debut, starting in Malaysia today, and it’s turning heads with its innovative foldable tech. The device can tri-fold, going from a regular phone to a much larger display. When folded, it’s just 12.8mm thick, and when opened up, it gets even thinner at 3.6mm.

In terms of specs, the Mate XT Ultimate Design packs a 10.2-inch OLED display (2232×3184 pixels) with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate—basically like a full-sized tablet. When opened in dual-display mode, it becomes a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2232×2048 pixels. Fold it completely, and it works just like a normal smartphone with a 6.4-inch display, still boasting that high 2232×3184-pixel resolution.
Huawei’s keeping quiet about the processor, but you’re getting a setup with 16GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage. The camera setup is impressive too, with a 50MP main shooter that features an adjustable aperture between f/1.4 and f/4.0, plus a 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5.5X optical zoom. For selfies, there’s an 8MP front camera with autofocus.

The bigger screen means more power, so Huawei’s packed in a 5,600mAh battery, split into three segments. It supports USB-C and can be charged fast—up to 66W wired and 50W wirelessly. If you’re interested, the Mate XT Ultimate Design is available for pre-order in Malaysia, priced at RM14,999.
