Proton has kicked off 2025 with a strong showing in the electric vehicle (EV) market, as the Proton e.MAS 7 emerged as Malaysia’s best-selling EV in January, capturing 25% of total EV sales.

Since its official launch on December 16, 2024, the e.MAS 7 has received over 4,000 bookings, prompting Proton to offer an additional 3,000 units with launch package benefits. In its first month, 421 units were delivered to customers through 30 Proton e.MAS outlets, with the Premium variant making up over 80% of orders.

Beyond EV sales, Proton’s export volume saw an 86.9% year-on-year increase, with 200 units shipped in January. Meanwhile, the Proton X50, X90, and S70 led their respective market segments, reinforcing Proton’s strong presence in both EV and ICE vehicle sales.

With the EV market gaining momentum, Proton expects the e.MAS 7 to continue driving growth, positioning itself as a key player in Malaysia’s evolving electric mobility landscape.
