TNG eWallet just introduced a new feature dubbed SOS Balance. As its name suggests, it allows users to pass through tolls even if they don’t have enough balance, so less folks will be stuck at tolls now. While it’s quite a convenient feature, it has only been enabled for “loyal TNG eWallet users” at the moment.
To check if SOS Balance is enabled on your TNG eWallet account, just tap on the car icon at the top of the screen on the home page of the app. If the feature isn’t available to you, there are ways to “increase your chances of eligibility,” as the company puts it. These include clearing all outstanding payments promptly, adding money frequently to TNG eWallet, and actively using the payment service for transactions.

When you do use the SOS Balance for toll payments, you’re required to reload your TNG eWallet account within 24 hours; any outstanding SOS Balance will then be automatically deducted from the reload amount. If you didn’t perform any reload in that time period, you won’t be able to make payments or purchases with the eWallet service until the SOS Balance is settled.
At the time of writing, TNG eWallet’s SOS Balance only supports toll payments, though the company says more services will be added in the future. If you want to learn more about the new feature, you can do so here – a list of toll locations that support SOS Balance can also be found there.
