It seems like more and more scooters are being launched in Malaysia. The latest one to be offered here is the Aveta Vanguard 250, an “ATC” – that stands for adventure touring crossover – scooter that looks to offer solid value for money with an appealing set of features.

Two variants of the Vanguard 250 are offered in Malaysia. The base Standard model (offered in the sole Nano Grey colour) is priced at RM14,888, while the Special Edition version goes for RM16,388 with two colour options: Majestic Green and Titanium Grey.

Touted as an ATC scooter, the Vanguard 250 is said to have some off-road capabilities with high ground clearance (160mm) and a robust suspension system. Powering the Vanguard 250, on the other hand, is a 244.2cc SOHC, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that outputs 24.8hp and 22.5Nm of torque. This being a scooter, drive is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT transmission and belt drive.

Rounding out the specifications of the Vanguard 250 are two-channel ABS, traction control, a 13L fuel tank, 780mm seat height, and a keyless system. Naturally, the Special Edition model has some extra goodies too, including a tyre pressure monitoring system, a front dashcam, and even a 7-inch TFT LCD screen with support for smartphone screen mirroring.

To recap, the Aveta Vanguard 250 is priced at RM14,888 and RM16,388 for the Standard and Special Edition models respectively. At these price points, it’s definitely one of the more affordable scooters in the 250cc segment.
