Genshin Impact is set to receive its Version 5.3 update next week on 1 January 2025, and the Pyro Archon herself, Mavuika, will finally be playable. On top of that, in conjunction with the annual Lantern Rite in-game event, players can even get 20 free pulls.
Mavuika, who is naturally a 5-star Pyro claymore character, is not the only new playable character. Joining her are Citlali (5-star Cryo catalyst) and Lan Yan (4-star Anemo catalyst); the former will be offered in the first phase of Version 5.3’s Event Wishes alongside Mavuika. Lan Yan, on the other hand, will be featured in the second half alongside Arlecchino’s and Clorinde’s rerun banners.

As usual, Genshin Impact’s Lantern Rite event offers some attractive rewards in the Version 5.3 update. Players can get 1,600 Primogems and 10 Intertwined Fates through a daily login event, which are effectively 20 free pulls. On top of that, a new glider (Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined) will also be offered to all players for free via the in-game mail.
Besides that, two characters are getting new outfits in the Version 5.3 update of Genshin Impact too. These include Xiangling’s “New Year’s Cheer” outfit – which can be obtained for free by participating in the Lantern Rite’s activities – as well as Hu Tao’s “Cherries Snow-Laden” outfit; this will be sold in the in-game shop at a discount for a limited time.

Genshin Impact 5.3 will go live on 1 January 2025 next week. Mavuika and Citlali will be featured in the first phase of Event Wishes, while Arlecchino’s and Clorinde’s banners (alongside Lan Yan) will return in the second half.
