There’s a new budget-friendly phone in town, and it’s the Samsung Galaxy A16 LTE. Given its affordable nature, the Galaxy A16 doesn’t have the most impressive hardware, but its software support is the highlight here: Samsung is promising six years of software and security updates for the budget phone.
For the Malaysian market, the Galaxy A16 LTE is priced at RM659 for the sole 4GB + 128GB configuration. This is quite a bit more affordable than the 5G variant of the Galaxy A16, which is priced at RM899, though it also comes with twice the RAM and storage capacities at 8GB and 256GB respectively.

Beyond the differences mentioned above, the Galaxy A16 LTE also has a different MediaTek Helio G99 chipset over the 5G model, which is powered by either a Mediatek Dimensity 6300 or Exynos 1330 processor. Other specifications of the Galaxy A16 include a 6.7-inch 2340 x 1080 Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (50MP main + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro), a 13MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 LTE is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM659 on Samsung Malaysia’s online store. Robust software update is important for folks who want to use their phones long-term, so in this regard, the Galaxy A16 is definitely a choice worth considering. Six years of software and security updates is impressive, especially on a budget-friendly phone.
