Naughty Dog is back with a new game! The studio behind The Last of Us and Uncharted series’ upcoming title is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which has been in development for the PS5 since 2020. Chances are, it will be a PS5 exclusive game like the studio’s previous titles.

Compared to Naughty Dog’s recent games, Intergalactic looks to offer a distinctively different gameplay. At least, that’s the impression we get based on the last few seconds of the announcement trailer below, which seems to show a rather action-oriented gameplay.

Intergalactic follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter who is stranded on the distant planet Sempiria. Jordan “will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit,” as Naughty Dog puts it, and the character is played by Tati Gabrielle.

Beyond the trailer above, not much has been revealed about Intergalactic. But Naughty Dog says that the game will live up to the studio’s tradition of “creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey,” and it will offer the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history.

In remains to be seen exactly when Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will be released on the PS5. Given that the game has only been announced today – and there’s very little gameplay to speak of – we reckon it will be a while before Intergalactic is ready for release.
