December 6, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Launched alongside the Zeekr 009 in Malaysia is the Zeekr X, a fast, compact “urban SUV,” as the carmaker puts it. Just as promised, the Zeekr X does start below the RM180,000 price point on our shores, with the Premium base model priced at RM155,800 – not a bad price at all for a premium EV.

If you want the faster Flagship AWD version of the Zeekr X, it will set you back RM172,800. Regardless of which model you get, the electric SUV comes with a five-year/150,000km vehicle warranty along with an eight-year/160,000km warranty on the battery.

Performance wise, the Flagship AWD Zeekr X has a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 315kW (428PS) and 543Nm of torque. This setup allows the range-topping variant to sprint from 0-100kmph in only 3.8 seconds. The Premium model, on the other hand, has a rear-mounted motor that does 200kW (272PS) and 343Nm of torque, good for a 0-100kmph time of 5.6 seconds.

Aside from that, the Zeekr X also has a 66kWh battery that can provide up to 440km of range (measured on the stringent WLTP cycle) for the Premium variant. The Flagship AWD model, on the other hand, has a slightly lower range of up to 420km on a single charge. Not surprising, given its higher performance.

In terms of charging speeds, both the Premium and Flagship AWD Zeekr X feature 150kW DC charging, so the EV can be charged up from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. AC charging is rated at 7.2kW for the Premium model, while the Flagship AWD trim gets faster 11kW AC charging.

The Zeekr X can now be booked in Malaysia with a RM2,000 (refundable) fee, and bookings can even be done online through this form. To recap, the electric SUV retails at RM155,800 and RM172,800 for the Premium and Flagship AWD models respectively, with deliveries starting in mid-December. It’s worth noting that the first 500 owners will also get a launch package that includes a home charger, portable charger, solar film, and sunshade cover.
