Perodua’s booth is likely one of the key highlights at KLIMS 2024, thanks to the showcase of the Perodua eMO-II prototype EV. It’s a preview of what the national carmaker’s first EV will look like once it’s released sometime in 2025, and it is quite a sporty-looking electric hatchback with some futuristic design elements.

During the unveiling of the eMO-II, the President and CEO of Perodua, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, mentioned that Perodua will price its EV between RM50,000 to RM90,000. This is quite an interesting revelation, given that the previous estimate is just below RM100,000.

“This prototype is the continuation of our EV journey as we continue to build this technology from the ground up. eMO-II has been improved from its predecessor in terms of styling and features, and it’s now more defined as we chart our EV future,” said Zainal. “Please keep in mind that this is still a prototype model and there are plenty of other features and improvements that we will add to our finished product, which we will introduce in the near future,” he added.

If you want to see the Perodua eMO-II prototype EV for yourself, you can do so at KLIMS 2024 from today until 11 December. The event is located at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, and there are plenty of other interesting cars to see there, including the Perodua Ativa Fuze concept.
