Honda Malaysia Enters EV Market in 2025 With Honda e:N1
December 4, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Now this is quite the surprise! At the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024, Honda Malaysia is showcasing the Honda e:N1, which is essentially an electric version of the Honda HR-V. The Japanese carmaker also confirmed that the electric SUV will actually be sold in Malaysia next year!

Unfortunately, no specific timeline was given for the local release of the e:N1 beyond the 2025 launch window. Nonetheless, it’s certainly exciting to see Honda Malaysia enter the EV market on our shores, and the e:N1 looks to be a very promising EV too.

While the exact specifications of the e:N1 for the Malaysian market were not revealed, it should be similarly equipped to the Indonesian model. If this is the case, it will be powered by a front-mounted electric motor that produces 150kW (204PS) of power and 310Nm of torque; good for a 0-100kmph time of 7.7 seconds to a top speed of 160kmph.

Aside from that, the e:N1 also has a range of up to 412km as measured on the stringent WLTP standard, thanks to the 68.8kWh battery. As for charging speeds, the EV supports 78kW DC charging, taking 45 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. AC charging, on the other hand, is rated at 11kW, which takes six hours to achieve the same level of charge.

To recap, the Honda e:N1 will be launched in Malaysia sometime in 2025 next year. If you want to see the EV for yourself, you can do so at KLIMS 2024 from 5 to 11 December; the event takes place in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
