Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Collaborates With Hotels, CPOs to Expand EV Charging Network
November 28, 2024 Andrew Cheng

To further expand its EV charging network, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is collaborating with several hotels, a golf course, and charge point operators (CPOs) to install more EV chargers. The partners involved include Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang and Marriott Hotel in Penang; The RuMa Hotel & Residences and Saujana Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur; as well as the Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas in Johor.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is also working with three different CPOs for the initiative, which are Gentari, EV Connection (JomCharge), and ChargEV. In Saujana Golf & Country Club specifically, two EV charging points by EV Connection are provided.

It’s worth noting that this collaboration also extends beyond EV chargers. At the aforementioned partner hotels, for example, Mercedes-Benz owners only need to show their Mercedes-Benz card or app upon check-in to enjoy special privileges such as complimentary welcome amenity, room upgrade, and various discounts.

“Mercedes-Benz has always been at the forefront of driving the future of mobility and luxury through meaningful and synergistic collaborations. By seamlessly integrating electric mobility into luxury lifestyle experiences, we are redefining the essence of being a Mercedes-Benz customer,” said the CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Amanda Zhang.

The Vice President of Customer Services at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Edmin Naidoo, also chimed in. “Our partnerships are designed to address the diverse needs of our customers while supporting Malaysia’s transition to sustainable mobility. By expanding the EV charging ecosystem and offering customised solutions, we are addressing today’s customer trends and expectations and further laying the foundation for a more sustainable customer centric future,” he said.
