Honda Prelude at KLIMS 2024 in Malaysia – Hybrid Coupe’s First Appearance Outside Japan
November 25, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Now this is interesting: Honda Malaysia is set to showcase the Honda Prelude Concept hybrid coupe at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024. Set to take place in MITEC from 5 to 11 December, this is the Prelude’s first public appearance outside of Japan, which is quite exciting for us here in Malaysia.

What makes the new Prelude Concept particularly interesting is the fact that it marks the return of the iconic nameplate. Of course, as its name suggests, this is only a concept of the eventual production model, which is set to be unveiled sometime in 2025 next year.

It has been revealed that the Prelude will sport a hybrid powertrain, so chances are, it will utilise the Japanese carmaker’s e:HEV system. The hybrid setup is currently found on various mainstream Honda models, including the Civic, HR-V, CR-V, and even the City. Unfortunately, this may also mean there won’t be the option for a manual transmission despite the Prelude’s sporty history.

Nonetheless, it’s certainly exciting for Malaysia to be the first market outside of Japan to get a preview of the Honda Prelude Concept. If you’re keen to see the hybrid coupe in person, you can do so at KLIMS 2024 between 5 to 11 December next month at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
