Initially launched in Malaysia a few months back through distributor Bermaz Auto, the Xpeng G6 now comes with three years of free service. More specifically, it’s free scheduled maintenance for three years or 60,000km, which goes on top of the existing five-year/120,000km vehicle warranty and eight-year/160,000km warranty for the battery and motor.
To recap, the Xpeng G6 is a sizeable electric SUV that competes directly with the Tesla Model Y at a lower price point. Two variants of the Xpeng G6 are offered in Malaysia: there’s the base Standard Range model for RM165,820, while the Long Range variant is priced at RM185,820. As the names suggest, what differentiate the two models is the range offered, though there’s also a difference in performance.
Let’s start with the higher-end Xpeng G6 Long Range, which features an 87.5kWh battery that is good for a range of up to 570km on a single charge measured under the stringent WLTP standard. It also has an electric motor on the rear that outputs 282hp and 440Nm of torque for a 0-100kmph time of 6.2 seconds.
As for the more affordable Xpeng G6 Standard Range, it comes with a smaller 66kWh battery, returning up to 435km of WLTP range. While it also has a rear-mounted electric motor, the power is slightly lower at 255hp, but torque remains the same at 440Nm. This allows the EV to do the century sprint in 6.6 seconds.
In terms of charging, both variants of the Xpeng G6 support 11kW AC charging; it can get from 5% to 100% in 7.5 hours and 9.5 hours for the Standard Range and Long Range models respectively. As for DC charging, the Standard Range can do 215kW charging, while the Long Range can pull 280kW of power, though both can achieve 10% to 80% charge in 20 minutes.
The Xpeng G6 is now available for booking in Malaysia from RM165,820. If you’re keen to get the electric SUV with three years of free service, you can register your interest (and even book a test drive) right here.
