It seems like Netflix is the next streaming platform to increase its prices. First reported by Amanz, the new prices look to be effective immediately. The prices now start at RM18.90/month for the Mobile plan, all the way up to RM62.90/month for the Premium subscription.
The plan that sees the highest price increase is naturally the aforementioned RM62.90 Premium tier, which was previously priced at RM55; that’s a RM7.90 price hike. Next, it’s the RM49.90 Standard plan (up from RM45), RM29.90 Basic plan (up from RM28), and finally, the RM18.90 Mobile plan (up from RM17).
Beyond the price increase, the benefits of each Netflix plan look to be maintained. The Premium tier, for example, still supports 4K HDR video quality on TV, computer, mobile phone, and tablet. Four devices can be active at the same time too, and download is supported on six different devices.
If your Netflix billing cycle is due soon, do check if you will be charged the new rates. Those who are subscribed to the streaming service through other channels (such as Astro) may see price changes too, though we were told that current Astro subscribers who have Netflix bundled in their subscription packs won’t be affected by the price hike until 1 March 2025.
