Just as promised, Xiaomi is the first brand to release not one, but two devices powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro just made their debuts in China, and both phones continue to sport Leica camera systems, with the latter being touted as “the pinnacle of smartphone photography.”

Let’s start with the higher-end device of the two, the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It features a Leica-branded triple camera system (50MP main + 50MP periscope telephoto 5x zoom + 50MP ultra-wide), a 6.73-inch 3200 x 1440 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, and a large 6,100mAh battery with 90W charging.

As for the standard Xiaomi 15, it comes with a Leica triple camera system too, though it’s not quite as sophisticated. It’s made up of a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Other hardware of the Xiaomi 15 include a 6.36-inch 2670 x 1200 OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,400mAh battery with 90W charging.

At the moment, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are only offered in China, and it remains to be seen exactly when both phones will be sold outside of Xiaomi’s home market. Nonetheless, we reckon it’s only a matter of time before the two phones arrive on our shores in Malaysia.
