The time is finally here: bookings for the highly anticipated Proton e.MAS 7 will be opened this Saturday at the ACE 2024 event in Setia City Convention Centre. Not only will there be early bird offers for the EV, members of the public can finally see the interior of the electric SUV too; even the e.MAS app will be shown off then.
As promised by Proton, the e.MAS app will be similar to the Hello smart app. Customers can place a booking for the e.MAS 7 through the e.MAS app, and a charging map is integrated within the app too. According to Paultan.org, bookings will be opened at over 36 e.MAS dealers as well. The figure is interesting, given that the previous dealership number revealed by Proton was only 18.

Proton confirmed that the e.MAS 7 will (likely) feature the same powertrain as its donor model, the Geely Galaxy E5. After all, it has the same 0-100kmph time of 6.9 seconds as the E5, which features a front-mounted electric motor that can do 218PS (160 kW) and 320Nm of torque.
Although the e.MAS 7 is likely sharing the same powertrain as the Galaxy E5, it is not a simple “rebadge” exercise. Proton has mentioned on multiple occasions that the C-segment electric SUV is co-developed by both Proton and Geely. Between the two companies, over 700,000 manhours and 10 million kilometre of testing have been done for the e.MAS 7 to date.
On top of that, the e.MAS 7 will have some local adaptations as well. According to Proton, local road tests of the EV include Durability Adaptive Testing (DAT), Electrical Road Testing (ERT), Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) road test, and Quality Reliability Test (QRT). Enhancements to the navigation systems, Digital Head Unit (DHU), as well as Telematic Service Provider (TSP) services are in the cards too.

To recap, bookings for the Proton e.MAS 7 will be opened on 26 October this Saturday at ACE 2024 in Setia City Convention Centre ahead of its debut sometime in December 2024. If you want to check out the EV for yourself – and catch the early bird offers – be there at 9AM; doors will be opened then.
