Stellantis Malaysia just launched the first model under its Leapmotor brand. The Leapmotor C10 is a D-segment electric SUV, so it’s a large car with a rather premium appeal. To celebrate the launch of the EV, early birds can even get a RM10,000 discount on the C10.
Retailing at RM159,000 in Malaysia for the sole (and higher-end) Design variant, the Leapmotor C10 can be purchased for RM149,000 until 30 November 2024. For that kind of money, you’re getting a sizeable SUV. Measuring 4,739mm long, 1,900mm wide, and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,825mm, it’s roughly the size of the Proton X90.
However, it’s worth noting that the C10 is a five-seater SUV, while the X90 is either a seven- or six-seater vehicle.

Aside from that, powering the C10 is a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 160kW (218PS) and 320Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0-100kmph in only 7.5 seconds. This is really quite respectable for an electric SUV as heavy (it weighs 1,980kg) and as big as the C10.
In terms of range, the C10 is said to offer up to 424km of WLTP range on a single charge, and it can be recharged from 30% to 80% battery in 30 minutes with 84kW DC charging. As for AC charging, it is limited to 6.6 kW, where it takes 6.1 hours to get the same level of charge.
It’s worth noting that the suspension of the C10 sold for export markets – in this case, Malaysia – is tuned by Stellantis’ chassis tuning team at Balocco, Italy. That is where Maserati has its proving ground, so some folks are saying that the C10 is – to a certain extent – tuned by Maserati.

To recap, the Leapmotor C10 is offered in the sole Design variant for RM159,000 in Malaysia. Those who place a booking for the electric SUV by 30 November can enjoy a RM10,000 discount, bringing down the price of the EV to RM149,000.
