There is no shortage of C-segment SUVs in Malaysia, and the latest entry in the market is the GWM Haval H6 HEV. As its name suggests, it is a hybrid SUV with quite a bit of power under the hood, and it is touted as “the best-selling SUV in China” for nine consecutive years with over four million units sold worldwide.
First, pricing. Only one variant of the Haval H6 is offered in Malaysia, and it is goes for RM139,800. The SUV also gets a rather comprehensive warranty coverage, including a 10-year/1,000,000km engine warranty, an eight-year/1,00,000km HEV system warranty, and a seven-year/200,000km full vehicle warranty.
Under the hood of the Haval H6 is a 1.5L turbo hybrid engine that offers a combined output of 243PS and 530Nm of torque. Paired to a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), the SUV can sprint from 0-100kmph in 7.7 seconds. With a quoted fuel consumption of 5.8L/100km, GWM says the Haval H6 can travel up to 1,000km on a single tank too.
Other specifications of the Haval H6 include Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist, six airbags, 19-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate with kick sensor, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The GWM Haval H6 HEV is now available for booking in Malaysia for RM139,800. Early birds who book the SUV by 20 October will get a RM3,000 rebate, and those who register the Haval H6 within 2024 will even get five years of free maintenance, inclusive of parts and labour. Interestingly, existing GWM owners can get an additional RM3,000 rebate as well.
