After launching its first-ever foldable phone in Malaysia last week, Infinix is introducing a much more budget-friendly phone in Malaysia today. Touted as the “strongest entry-level 5G” phone by Infinix – certainly a lofty claim – the Hot 50 looks to be a decent budget phone.
For the Malaysian market, the Hot 50 is offered in the sole 8GB + 256GB model for RM599. For that kind of money, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, which is positioned as the chipmaker’s mid-range offering. The phone also features a 6.7-inch 1600 x 720 IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate.

Other specifications of the Hot 50 include a triple camera system headlined by a 48MP shooter – Infinix did not specify the other two lenses, curiously enough – an 8MP selfie camera, a chassis that measures 7.8mm thin, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging.
The Infinix Hot 50 is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM599 through Shopee; orders placed by 15 October will be bundled with a pair of Xbuds 3 GT wireless earbuds worth RM99. Four colour options are available, including Vibrant Blue, Sage Green, Sleek Black, and Dreamy Purple. It’s worth noting that the latter is not in stock at the time of writing.
