BYD Malaysia is set to add another model to its lineup of EVs next week on 15 October. This time around, it’s a large seven-seater electric MPV in the form of the BYD M6, and the new model will be shown to the public from 18 to 20 October in Dataran Karnival, Perkarangan Stadium Shah Alam.
The exact specifications of the BYD M6 for the Malaysian market have not been revealed yet, though we can reference the variants offered in our neighbouring countries. In Indonesia, for example, two different electric motors are offered; either a 120kW (163PS) motor with 310Nm of torque, or a more powerful 150kW (204PS) motor with the same torque figure.

As for range, it ranges (excuse the pun) from 420km to 530km on a single charge, though this is measured using the more optimistic NEDC cycle. In terms of DC charging, it can draw either 85kW or 115kW of power, depending on the variant. AC charging, on the other hand, is limited to 7kW for all variants.
We’ll find out more about the BYD M6 and what it has to offer once the electric MPV is launched in Malaysia next week on 15 October. Interested customers can also register their interests for the public preview from 18 to 20 October in Shah Alam through BYD Malaysia’s official website.
