Well, we’re caught off guard by this: Xiaomi just confirmed that the Xiaomi Mix Flip is coming to Malaysia! Set to shake up the flip-style foldable phone market on our shores, the Chinese company even revealed the local pricing of the phone today.
It appears only one variant of the Mix Flip will be offered in Malaysia. Sporting 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage, the foldable phone is priced at RM4,999 on our shores. This is the same starting price as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, though the equivalent 512GB model of Samsung’s foldable phone is priced higher at RM5,599.
Hardware wise, the Mix Flip is a high-end phone through and through. Not only is it powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, it also has a large 4.01-inch 392 x 1208 cover screen – with 120Hz refresh rate – protected by what the company dubs Xiaomi Shield Glass.
Aside from that, the Mix Flip also has a Leica-branded dual camera system made up of a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP floating telephoto lens. Other specifications of the Mix Flip include a 6.86-inch 2912 x 1224 CrystalRes foldable display with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 4,780mAh battery with 67W charging.
To recap, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is priced at RM4,999 in Malaysia, and it is now available for purchase locally through various retailers with up to RM3,227 worth of freebies. If you want to get it from a telco instead, you can do so from CelcomDigi.
