September 27, 2024 Andrew Cheng

The Xiaomi 14T series has just been launched in Malaysia. The headline feature of the two phones in the lineup – the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro – is definitely the Leica-branded camera system, promising improved low-light performance. Interestingly, the 14T series is also set to get Google’s convenient AI-powered Circle to Search feature.

Several variants of the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro are offered in Malaysia. The 14T starts at RM1,899 for the 256GB model, while the 512GB configuration goes for RM2,199. As for the 14T Pro, it retails from RM2,599 for the 256GB variant, going up to RM2,999 and RM3,499 for the 512GB and 1TB models respectively.

Naturally, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is the higher-end device of the two. It comes with a more sophisticated Leica triple camera system made up of a 50MP main camera with Xiaomi’s own Light Fusion 900 sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter. Aside from that, it also comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, a 6.67-inch 2712 x 1220 AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging.

The 14T, on the other hand, has a similar Leica triple camera array as the Pro model, but the 50MP primary camera is packed with a Sony IMX 906 sensor instead. Other specifications of the 14T include a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra chip, a 6.67-inch 2712 x 1220 AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, a 32MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging, and an IP68 rating like the Pro model.

A slew of AI features are also coming to the 14T and 14T Pro. These include AI Interpreter, AI image editing, Google Gemini, and of course, the aforementioned Circle to Search with Google. We were told these features will be available on the 14T series sometime in October next month.

The Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro are now available for purchase in Malaysia from RM1,899 and RM2,599 respectively. Freebies worth up to RM2,276 are up for grabs too, depending on which device you plan to get.
