It’s no secret that Proton and Geely has a close working relationship, so it’s not surprising that several units of the Geely Galaxy E5 EV have been driven all the way from China to Malaysia. The global tour, as the carmaker puts it, covered over 3,735km of distance from Guizhou, China to Yunnan, Laos, Thailand, and now, Malaysia.
We know that the Galaxy E5 is the basis of the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 EV, and the latter will continue the Malaysian leg of the tour. The local electric SUV will cover 2,000km of travel throughout Malaysia, starting with Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, and Johor once the nationwide tour kicks off on 5 October.
The tour will then move on to Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan, followed by the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia (Perak, Penang, Kedah, and Perlis). After that, the e.MAS 7 will return back to KL and Selangor before making its way to East Malaysia. The EV will go around Sabah first before concluding the tour in Sarawak.
“Proton e.MAS is proud to be embarking on this journey with the e.MAS 7. Our goal is to provide Malaysians with an engaging experience of how it navigates our nation’s unique road conditions and climates. This tour will not only celebrate our vibrant communities but also foster a deeper connection with our customers,” said the CEO of Pro-Net, Zhang Qiang.
“The Geely E5’s achievement of driving over 3,700km from China to Malaysia is a significant achievement. This brand new EV navigated tough weather, challenging road conditions, and even floodwaters. The durability, reliability, and quality of the Galaxy E5 highlight the engineering excellence behind the Proton e.MAS 7 – demonstrating how it will be a game-changer for our market,” he added.
