Also (somewhat) updated today is the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which gets the new sleep apnea detection feature and a new black titanium finish. Apple also unveiled a new, very decadent version of the rugged smartwatch, the Apple Watch Hermès Ultra 2; it gets an exclusive Hermès watchface and a rather unique-looking “Hermès En Mer” band.
Let’s talk about prices first. There’s no change to the starting price of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 – it still retails from RM3,799 for both the new black and natural finishes, and a few watch bands have been updated with black hardware to match the new black case of the smartwatch. As for the Hermès Ultra 2, well, it is priced at a cool RM6,399.
Aside from the new colour and sleep apnea detection, the Watch Ultra 2 continues to be powered by the S9 chip. Its display also has a peak brightness of a whopping 3,000 nits – which is said to be 50% brighter than the first Watch Ultra, and it continues to be the brightest display ever on an Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black and the Apple Watch Hermès Ultra 2 can now be pre-ordered in Malaysia from RM3,799 and RM6,399 respectively. The two smartwatches will be available in stores from 20 September next week.
