If you’ve just placed a booking for an EV – or you are planning to – consider getting the special EV number plate to match your electric vehicle. JPJ just opened the EV series for bidding, and you’ve got until 13 September to grab it.
In order to place your bid for an EV plate, you will need to register for an account with JPJeBid on the website. Alternatively, you can also register through the mobile app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Now that the EV series is opened for bidding, you can start placing your bid. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind before you do so. As the name of the number plate series suggests, EV plates can only be registered to…well, EVs. On top of that, this is not a one-off special plate: the series will continue on to EVA, EVB, and so on.
The pricing structure for the EV plate series should be similar to previous bids. If you want a “regular number” without any special significance, for example, the minimum bid amount is RM300; the standard price for a plate number. Do note that if your bid for a plate is successful, it has to be registered to an EV within 12 months.
You’ve got until 13 September at 10PM to place a bid for the EV series; the results will be released the following day on 14 September. Good luck!
