Unveiled globally not too long ago, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus is now available in Malaysia. While other smartphone brands use the Plus moniker to indicate a larger model with a bigger display, that’s not the case with Nothing. Rather, the Phone 2a Plus has some upgraded hardware over the Phone 2a.
Let’s start with pricing first. Here in Malaysia, the Phone 2a Plus retails at RM1,999; that is RM300 more over the Phone 2a for the same 12GB + 256GB configuration. It is also offered in two colours, Black and Grey, with the latter sporting a rather eye-catching unfinished machined metal look.
Compared to the Phone 2a, the newer Phone 2a Plus features a faster MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset. Aside from that, the charging speed has also been increased slightly to 50W (up from 45W), and the selfie camera has been upgraded to a 50MP unit too.
As for other specifications of the Phone 2a Plus, they are identical to the Phone 2a. These include the Glyph Interface lighting that surrounds the camera module, a 6.7-inch 2412 x 1084 AMOLED display with 30-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a dual camera system (50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide), and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Nothing Phone 2a Plus is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM1,999. It is offered through Shopee, Lazada, as well as several retailers such as DirectD, TMT, and Urban Republic. The mid-range phone will also be sold by CelcomDigi sometime in October 2024.
