Unveiled in China a couple of weeks ago, the Pico 4 Ultra has just been launched in Malaysia. It’s worth noting that Malaysia is one of the first markets to get ByteDance’s new mixed reality headset, and just like the standard Pico 4, the Pico 4 Ultra is priced quite competitively.
For the Malaysian market, only one variant of the Pico 4 Ultra is offered. Packed with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the mixed reality headset is priced at RM2,799 here. Also launched alongside the Pico 4 Ultra today is the RM399 Pico Motion Tracker, which can be used with the Pico 4 Ultra and the Pico 4 to add feet tracking.
Compared to the regular Pico 4, which was launched here back in October 2022, the Pico 4 Ultra – as its name suggests – features higher-end hardware. Not only is it a mixed reality headset now rather than just virtual reality, it is also powered by a much more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset.
Other specifications of the Pico 4 Ultra include 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, two 32MP colour passthrough cameras, two 2.56-inch 2160 x 2160 displays with 90Hz refresh rate, a 105-degree field of view, as well as a larger 5,700mAh battery.
The Pico 4 Ultra will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 4 to 8 September for RM2,799. Early birds will get a number of free gifts worth RM491.99, including the Pico Motion Tracker and the All-in-One Sports VR game.
Beyond Malaysia, the Pico 4 Ultra will also be launched in other markets in the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea.
