The Honor Magic V3 Is a Ridiculously Thin Foldable Phone – Coming to Malaysia 5 Sept

The Honor Magic V3 is set to make its debut in Malaysia alongside the global launch of the foldable phone at IFA Berlin on 5 September next week. Ahead of the local launch, Honor Malaysia gave members of the media a look at the new phone, and it is ridiculously thin.

After all, the Magic V3 measures only 9.2mm thin when it is folded, and naturally, it gets even thinner (4.35mm) when it’s opened up. Beyond its slim profile, the foldable phone is also quite lightweight at 226g; this makes it even lighter than some traditional bar phones. It’s worth noting that the device comes with an IPX8 rating now too, an improvement over its predecessor which had no IP rating.

Holding the Magic V3 in my hands, it’s almost surreal how thin it feels. What’s even more surprising is how comfortable the phone is to hold with its razor thin frames. Despite the slim, lightweight chassis, the Magic V3 still feels very solid and robust as well; it certainly feels like a well-built flagship smartphone.

Beyond that, the Magic V3 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 7.92-inch 2344 x 2156 OLED inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 6.43-inch 2376 x 1060 OLED cover screen (also 120Hz adaptive refresh rate), a triple camera system (50MP primary + 40MP ultra-wide + 50MP periscope telephoto), 20MP selfie cameras for the inner and outer displays, as well as a 5,150mAh battery with 66W charging.

The Honor Magic V3 will be launched in Malaysia next week on 5 September. Aside from the foldable phone, the Chinese company is also introducing two other devices on the same day, the Honor MagicPad 2 and the Honor MagicBook Art 14; the latter even has a clever camera module that is neatly tucked away in the chassis of the laptop when not in use.
