While Acer continues to make Android-based tablets under the Iconia branding, none of them were offered in Malaysia for quite some time; well, until now. The Taiwanese company is bringing in two tablets to the local market, the Iconia Tab A8 and Iconia Tab P11, and both of them are catered to budget-conscious consumers.

The more affordable tablet of the two is the Iconia Tab A8. While it retails at RM699, it will be discounted to RM499 during the launch promotion from 1 to 14 September. As for the Iconia Tab P11, it’s a higher-end tablet for RM1,099; discounted to RM999 during the same launch period as the former tablet.

As mentioned, the Iconia Tab P11 is a more premium tablet. It features a MediaTek MT8781 chipset paired with 8GB RAM, 256GB of storage, an 11-inch 2000 x 1200 QLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and an 8,000mAh battery.

As for the Iconia Tab A8, it has a more modest spec sheet. It comes with an Allwinner A523 processor, an 8.68-inch 1340 x 800 IPS display, 4GB RAM, 128GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and a 6,000mAh battery.

The Acer Iconia Tab A8 and Acer Iconia Tab P11 will be available for purchase in Malaysia from this Sunday onwards on 1 September. To celebrate the launch of the two tablets on our shores, they will be priced at RM499 and RM999 respectively until 14 September.
