It seems like the HMD Skyline – which looks to take design inspirations from Nokia Lumia phones of old – is now available for purchase in Malaysia. Touted as a “repair-it-yourself” phone, the Skyline is priced at RM2,099 on our shores.
The Skyline is listed by Nokia Mobile Flagship Store on Shopee, which looks to be the company’s cross-border store. As mentioned, it retails at RM2,099, and it’s offered in three different colours: Neon Pink, Twisted Black, Blue Topaz. It’s worth noting that the store is currently offering an additional RM100 discount voucher (valid until 31 August), lowering the price of the Skyline to RM1,999.
Hardware wise, the Skyline is a reasonably well-equipped mid-range smartphone. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, a 6.55-inch 2400 x 1080 OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (108MP main + 50MP telephoto + 13MP ultra-wide), a 50MP selfie camera, and a 4,600mAh battery with 33W charging.
So how repairable is the Skyline? Well, according to HMD, several components of the phone can be swapped out by users themselves. These include the battery, back cover, charging board, loudspeaker, and even the display. It also comes with a customisable button on the left side of the phone.
The HMD Skyline is now available for purchase in Malaysia through Shopee from the Nokia Mobile Flagship Store for RM2,099. Again, the store is currently offering a RM100 discount voucher on the phone that’s valid until 31 August, lowering the price to RM1,999. Do note that you can stack Shopee’s own vouchers as well to get further discount on the Skyline.
