Now this is rather interesting: Samsung Malaysia is introducing a “Galaxy Forever Program” for the latest Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Those who purchase either phones and register for the program by 30 September 2024 can get up to 50% guaranteed resale value – though the company calls it residual value instead – for the next Galaxy Z device.
Of course, in order to secure the 50% resale value, the condition of the device has to be pristine during trade-in. As outlined by Samsung Malaysia, the phone must have less than three minor scratches to be eligible for the full 50% discount. Any more scratches than that, the resale value goes down to 40%.
Now, if the device has any cracks, it won’t be eligible for the trade-in offer at all.
It’s worth noting that the Galaxy Forever Program is not actually new; it has been introduced in other markets before for different devices. On top of that, for us here in Malaysia, only CIMB debit or credit card holders can join the program, and sign-ups have to be made by 30 September through this link. During the upgrade, you’re required to purchase a Galaxy Z device that is either above RM4,000 or with a higher retail price than your current device too.
The Galaxy Forever Program in Malaysia will run from 31 July 2024 to 31 December 2025, suggesting that the program is only reserved for the successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. More details on the program are detailed on Samsung Malaysia’s official website, while the full terms and conditions can be found here.
