Vivo V40 Series Lands in Malaysia – Still With Zeiss Cameras From RM1,999
August 22, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Vivo just launched its latest mid-range smartphones in Malaysia, the Vivo V40 series. Of course, the Zeiss-branded camera is still here, but this time around, both the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro receive the branding. On top of that, they now carry IP68/IP69 rating as well.

Here in Malaysia, the V40 starts at RM1,999 for the 256GB model, going up to RM2,399 for the more generous 512GB version. As for the higher-end V40 Pro, it is sold in the sole 512GB model for RM3,299. It’s worth noting that all variants of the V40 and V40 Pro feature 12GB RAM.

Although both the V40 and V40 Pro look quite similar to each other, they do have some notable differences. The V40 Pro naturally features a more sophisticated Zeiss triple camera system with a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto portrait shooter. The V40, on the other hand, makes do without the telephoto sensor.

The chipset powering the two phones is also different. The V40 Pro gets a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, while the standard V40 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. Other specifications of the V40 and V40 Pro include a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP selfie camera, the aforementioned IP68/IP69 rating, and a 5,500mAh battery with 80W charging.

The Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro are now available for pre-order in Malaysia from RM1,999 and RM3,299 respectively. Those who place an order by 30 August can enjoy up to RM1,604 worth of goodies as well, which include a DJI Osmo Mobile SE, a Vivo TWS 3e, and warranty extension.
