Now this is interesting: Honda Malaysia just made some changes to its August 2024 promotion. A “Merdeka Jiwa Madani” reward has been added, offering extra discount for selected models. These even include the Honda CR-V and Honda City Hatchback; two models that have not been discounted since their respective facelifts.

However, the model that benefits the most from the new reward is none other than the Honda City; the 1.5L V trim of the B-segment sedan is now discounted by RM8,000, matching the rebate offered for the costlier Honda Civic. As for other variants of the City, they get a flat RM7,000 discount.

Aside from that, the Honda WR-V also gets the extra Merdeka Jiwa Madani discount. The 1.5L V and 1.5L RS models both get a RM6,500 rebate, while the base 1.5L S and 1.5L E receive a RM5,000 discount. If you want a bigger SUV, there’s the CR-V; all variants of the C-segment model are discounted by RM2,000 with the new rebate.

Last but not least is the City Hatchback, which we recently drove in an extended test drive; all variants of the hatchback get a respectable RM3,000 discount. Do note that the Honda models that receive the extra Merdeka Jiwa Madani reward – the City, City Hatchback, WR-V, and CR-V – have to be registered between 15 to 31 August 2024 to enjoy the discount. Basically, you have to take delivery of your car by the end of the month.
