Initially announced last month, it seems like the HMD Skyline – which looks to take design inspirations from Nokia Lumia phones of old – is coming to Malaysia very soon. A listing of the mid-ranger, which is touted as a “repair-it-yourself” phone, has appeared on Shopee.
The Skyline is listed by Nokia Mobile Flagship Store on Shopee, which looks to be the company’s cross-border store. Priced at RM2,399, the phone is currently marked as sold out, so it’s not quite ready for sale yet. However, it’s worth noting that this price tag does not line up with HMD’s teaser as shown below. Of course, it’s possible the price is still being finalised.

Hardware wise, the Skyline is a reasonably well-equipped mid-range smartphone. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, a 6.55-inch 2400 x 1080 OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (108MP main + 50MP telephoto + 13MP ultra-wide), a 50MP selfie camera, and a 4,600mAh battery with 33W charging.
So how repairable is the Skyline? Well, according to HMD, several components of the phone can be swapped out by users themselves. These include the battery, back cover, charging board, loudspeaker, and even the display. It also comes with a customisable button on the left side of the phone.
At the moment, it remains to be seen exactly when the HMD Skyline will be available for purchase in Malaysia despite being listed on Shopee already for RM2,399. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye on the local availability of the Lumia Skyline.
