Last week, Proton announced its sales figure for July 2024, where the national carmaker hit its best sales record since September 2022 with 15,103 units sold. Today, Proton is emphasising the encouraging sales performance of the 2024 Proton X50 RC (Running Change), where almost 120,000 units of the B-segment SUV have been sold since its launch in October 2020.
This makes the X50 “the fastest selling SUV in Malaysian automotive history,” as the carmaker puts it. Proton further elaborated that in the first half of 2024, its SUV has a 10.3% market share in the SUV segment, “easily outpacing other vehicles in the same market segment.”
“July’s sales performance for the 2024 Proton X50 is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at Proton who listened closely to customer feedback. The model’s blend of performance, safety, and connectivity continues to resonate with our customers,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.
“At the same time, Proton has made local production improvements and the customer-centric enhancements have kept the Proton X50 ahead of the pack. Going forwards, Proton will continue to innovate and deliver exceptional value to our customers, reinforcing our position as a key player in the automotive industry,” he added.
