JuiceUP recently launched its open payment system for EV chargers. Essentially, it enables card payments at various EV charging stations, simplifying the payment process without the need to use specific apps for different EV chargers.
At the moment, JuiceUP is working with a number of Charge Point Operators (CPO) to make use of its payment system. These include TNB Electron, EVPower, JusEV, and Cucuk, though the rollout process for these CPOs were not detailed.
With JuiceUP’s payment solution, users can still keep track of their charging session without the need for an app. Once charging has started, a QR code will be provided that will direct users to a webpage that will show the status of the specific charging session.
“As more car manufacturers introduce affordable EVs, it is crucial that our charging/payment infrastructures and consistent user experience keep pace with the growing demands. We believe that innovation is a core driving force to bridge this gap and working closely with stakeholders in the EV ecosystem is key to accelerating this vision into reality,” said the CEO of JuiceUP, Benson Lim.
“Our easy, fast and frictionless ‘Tap and Juice-up’ open payment solution system is currently fully operational in key cities and we anticipate to cover 80% of the charging networks across Malaysia by 2025,” he added.
