ROG Ally X Pre-Orders Live in Malaysia for RM4,299 – Early Birds Get RM658 Freebies
July 17, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Asus Malaysia has opened pre-orders of the ROG Ally X on our shores. As we have reported yesterday, the handheld gaming PC retails at a cool RM4,299 in Malaysia, which is exactly RM1,000 costlier than the original model at launch, though you do get more for the money now.

While the ROG Ally X is still powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip with a 7-inch 1080p IPS display (120Hz), it does come with a number of upgrades. The RAM and SSD capacities, for example, have been increased to 24GB and 1TB respectively. Beyond that, it also has faster LPDDR5 7500MHz memory, which promises up to 15% faster performance.

Design wise, the ROG Ally X is more comfortable to hold than the original Ally, and it now comes in a black colourway instead of white. It’s worth noting that the Ally X is actually 70g heavier as well – it has a larger 80Wh battery after all – though it doesn’t feel too heavy to be cumbersome, which is good.

The ROG Ally X is now available for pre-order in Malaysia for RM4,299, and it will arrive on our shores in early August. Those who place an order for the handheld gaming PC by 31 July will also receive RM658 worth of freebies, which include a hard case, a charger, and even a screen protector.
