Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Priced From RM4,999 in Malaysia
July 10, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Samsung Malaysia also revealed the local pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, and much like the Z Fold 6, there is a price hike. Starting from RM4,999, the Z Flip 6 sees a RM500 price increase compared to last year’s Z Flip 5. Granted, the foldable phone does get 12GB of RAM now instead of 8GB, not to mention a number of upgrades.

The RM4,999 starting price is for the base model of the Z Flip 6, which features 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 12GB + 512GB configuration, on the other hand, goes for RM5,599; that is RM600 more than the 8GB + 512GB variant of the Z Flip 5 at launch.

Nonetheless, for that kind of money, the new Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a number of upgrades. Naturally, it is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and it even comes with a new dual camera system made up of a 50MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. It also gets a larger 4,000mAh battery, which should improve battery life.

Also new on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the improved FlexWindow cover screen. When you get a new message, for example, Suggested Replies will analyse your latest message (using AI, of course) to provide more contextual, nuanced replies. FlexWindow also gets more widgets now, so you won’t have to flip open the phone as much anymore; in theory, at least.

Rounding out the specifications of the Z Flip 6 are a 6.7-inch 2640 x 1080 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 3.4-inch 720 x 748 Super AMOLED cover screen (clocked at 60Hz), a 10MP selfie camera, as well as 12GB RAM as default.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia from RM4,999. Early birds who purchase the foldable phone by 30 July can get up to RM2,329 worth of freebies, including a RM500 e-voucher, a 1-year Samsung Care+ protection, and up to RM500 enhanced trade-in value.
